Building Strength, Restoring Families, and Investing in Community
At Hope & Hunger Foundation, we believe real change happens when community, compassion, and action come together. Over the past few weeks, we’ve had the privilege of being part of several moments that reflect exactly that — from expanding critical services for families, to investing in youth wellness, to convening leaders committed to lasting impact.
Expanding Support for Families at Manatee Children’s Services
We’re proud to support the continued growth of Manatee Children’s Services, particularly their work with the Council for Parents focused on reunification.
Family reunification is one of the most important — and challenging — goals in child welfare. It requires not just time, but intentional support, trust-building, and resources that empower parents to create stable, healthy environments for their children.
This expansion represents more than additional programming. It’s an investment in second chances, stronger families, and better outcomes for children in our community.
Investing in Strength at the Boys House
We also had the opportunity to help bring a new outdoor fitness space to life at the Boys House — and the impact is immediate.

The newly installed equipment creates a structured, positive outlet for physical activity, discipline, and personal growth. It’s more than a gym. It’s a space where young men can build confidence, reduce stress, and develop lifelong healthy habits.
The environment itself matters. When you provide high-quality, intentional spaces, you send a clear message: you are worth investing in.
A Powerful Gathering at the Funders Summit
We’re grateful to have participated in the recent Funders Summit hosted by Manatee Community Foundation.
The dialogue around community needs and where we can create the greatest impact was both meaningful and energizing. We especially appreciated the opportunity to better understand the goals and legacies of the foundations in the room — and the shared commitment to creating lasting change

A special thank you to the leaders from Tampa Bay Partnership and United Way Suncoast, whose perspectives helped deepen the conversation around regional impact.
Celebrating Impact Across Our Community
The Harbor58 Gala was a powerful example of what’s possible — raising over $345,000 to support young adults aging out of foster care. That kind of generosity changes trajectories.

We also want to recognize everyone who participated in the Giving Challenge. The engagement across our community continues to show what happens when people rally around a shared purpose.

Every one of these moments — whether it’s a new fitness space, expanded family services, or a room full of engaged funders — points to the same truth: progress happens when we work together. We’re grateful to be part of a community that shows up, leans in, and invests in meaningful change.
